Connecting to the Grid of ENMAX Power

ENMAX Power is the owner of the electric distribution system in Calgary. ENMAX Power delivers electrical energy to Calgary, but they do not sell this energy to customers in Calgary.

I haven't found any information about their micro-generation application process on their web site.

=========================================

You need to download the following documents to connect to ENMAX Power's grid:

  1. The Alberta Utilities Commission's Micro-Generator Application Guideline
  2. ENMAX Power's Micro-Generator Application Form -- phone them at 1 877 579 7999 to get information about this

Typically electric wires companies also want you to sign an operating agreement and agree to their terms and conditions. You should ask ENMAX Power whether this is part of their grid-connection process too.

They have technical documents from 2002 and 2004 that describe the technical requirements for distributed generators. Click here for these Guidelines.

If you have any questions about any of this please call Matt Dimoff, ENMAX Distribution Engineer at 514 3610. You can also contact Matt directly at [email protected].
